Soon after arriving in the Netherlands, I paid a visit to a brick and mortar store for curly hair products – my first one at that! The shop is called Megorgeous and is located in Amsterdam. I bought a couple of products including the Boucleme Curl Conditioner.
Description by Boucleme : Our super-hydrating curl conditioner is rich in Omegas 3, 6 and 9, vitamin E and antioxidants to strengthen the hair and protect it from environmental stressors. Our unique formulation penetrates deep into the hair cuticle, using virgin coconut, argan oil and aloe vera leaf actives to replenish much-needed moisture and bring shine to dull dry curls.
Ingredient Analysis:
- Water
- Cetearyl Alcohol – Emollient (softens hair)
- Glycerin – Humectant
- Aloe Vera Leaf Extract
- Polyglyceryl-3 Dicitrate/Stearate – Emulsifier
- Argan Oil
- Coconut Oil
- Pomegranate Fruit Extract
- Linseed Oil
Ingredients after the first 5 to 8 ingredients are in negligible amounts and can be ignored if you are not trying to avoid any ingredient in particular – Read the Ingredients List, Not the Product Claims
Boucleme Curl Conditioner is missing a crucial ingredient that makes a good conditioner (Ingredients to Look for in a Conditioner) – a cationic surfactant that smoothens the cuticle and helps in detangling. Plus it is quite heavy in oils.
CG Friendly: Yes
Texture: The conditioner is a creamy product(too creamy for my liking) with very poor slip and detangling ability
Smell: It smells a bit weird and the smell stays in your hair even after a day

+ I don’t have any positives to say about Boucleme Curl Conditioner
– It has very poor slip and detangling ability. It takes me a really long time to detangle and more often than not, I end up adding some other conditioner.
– Frizz isn’t controlled as much as a good condiitoner would normally do
– It’s on the oilier side and thus did not make my wavy-curly hair that happy
In short: Boucleme Curl Conditioner is not a great condiitoner because of it’s poor slip and detangling ability. It is also quite heavy. So I now use a pea sized as a leave in after washing to empty the bottle.

This get leaves my hair soft and my curls defined with reduced frizz. It also smells nice. However, it seems to lose its effectiveness on day two. I try to wash my hair only once a week, and this gel does not hold up for day two. I always add a little product each day, but the amount I have to use for this product doesn’t work well with my wash day goals. It would be great for those that wash daily, but for me, not so much.

I love this stuff. It smells amazing and lingers in my hair from so long. Sometimes I will get compliments on the smell. I’ll definitely be re buying solely on the smell . As far as texturizing my curls, if you pair it with a the right cream or leave in it will work. But not with all products unfortunately. Which is why I took off a star. If you use it by its self, its very drying (as all gels would be without pairing with another product).

This is a very interesting gel. The smell isn’t the best—perm mixed with pinesol or lemon pledge but without the chemicals. It’s fainter than I’m making it sound.
I normally like hard hold gel, and this definitely was not, however it just worked! No cast at all but somehow I’m waking up with great second day hair. I’ll take it!

This left me with messy loose curls at best. I had the same curl “definition” I get from products a third of the price, not worth it. Besides, this smells like lemon detergent, not very sexy. Pass!

I adore Boucleme’s products. They’re expensive, but worth it. I wash my hair every day. I don’t know if my hair has changed in the last few years or my hair has just gotten to be the best it can be because of these products, but I love my curls now. I even had a problem once where I received someone else’s order and Boucleme resent my package immediately and told me to keep the other products I mistakenly received. I have nothing but good things to say about the shampoo, conditioner, and gel!
